Trang Waterfall is about 110 km from Hanoi, and 45 km from the center of Hoa Binh city, located in Trang Ta hamlet, Nhan My commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province, is one of the destinations that attracts a large number of tourists, especially in the summer.
From afar, visitors can see the waterfall with its white water and white foam, creating a majestic scene. Although not too high, about 20 m, Trang Waterfall has three consecutive waterfalls, flowing through green terraced fields, bringing a peaceful feeling close to nature.
The first waterfall is about 10 m high, the largest. A special highlight of the waterfall is the ancient tree located right in the middle of the waterfall, covering the surrounding landscape, creating a beauty that is both majestic and unique. At the foot of the first waterfall is a large lake, however, the water level here is not deep enough for bathing, which further enhances the mystery and attraction of the Moon waterfall, making visitors want to explore deeper.
Continuing the journey, passing the top of the first waterfall, visitors will reach the second and third waterfalls, about 100 m apart. These two waterfalls are from 4 m to 7 m high, with water pouring down to form a clear lake, surrounded by natural rocks. This lake is likened to a natural swimming pool, giving visitors a cool, refreshing feeling when immersing themselves in the clear blue water in the middle of nature.
The most beautiful time of the year is from April to September, when the weather is warm, the water in the waterfall is abundant and the air is fresh. This is also the ideal time for visitors to participate in waterfall bathing, picnicking, or immersing themselves in the cool green natural space of the Northwest mountains.
However, visitors should also note that in the early summer months, the amount of water in the waterfall is not much due to dry weather and little rain. This may make the waterfall less majestic, but it brings a more peaceful and gentle feeling. At the same time, visitors should avoid visiting the waterfall on rainy days, when the water level rises and can be dangerous.
One of the indispensable experiences when coming to Thac Trang is enjoying the traditional cuisine of the Muong people. The rustic dishes, rich in the flavor of the mountains and forests, prepared by the locals, will surely captivate visitors. Dishes such as grilled hill chicken, mountain snails, mountain crabs, wild vegetables, bitter bamboo shoots or grilled stream fish are specialties with the typical flavor of the Muong land that visitors should try when coming here.
In addition, the local people with their hospitality and friendliness also contribute to creating a memorable trip. Visitors will not only enjoy the cuisine but also have the opportunity to learn about the life, culture and customs of the Muong people, an ethnic group with a long-standing and rich culture.
Recognized as a provincial scenic relic since 2019, Trang Waterfall is included in the tourism development plan of Tan Lac district. According to Ms. Bui Minh Hong, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Tan Lac district, Trang Waterfall is a potential destination with majestic and pristine natural landscapes, promising to bring many interesting feelings to visitors when they come to experience.
Although it is a new tourist destination, not yet affected much by tourism exploitation activities, Thac Trang has gradually affirmed its position on the Northwest tourism map. With its natural beauty, along with investment in developing infrastructure and tourism services, in the future, Thac Trang will certainly become an unmissable destination for those who love to explore and experience nature.
