The captivating beauty of Xinjiang in the eyes of Vietnamese tourists

China - The beauty of Xinjiang is captured through the lens of a Vietnamese man who visited famous places such as Kanas reserve, Urho demon city, Hemu village...
Xinjiang is one of the five largest autonomous regions in China with many ethnic minorities living there. Bordering China with eight Asian countries such as Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, Xinjiang has a diversity of culture and nature that is rare elsewhere. Photo: NVCCTravel blogger Ha Hien (27 years old) in Ho Chi Minh City said that although he did not plan to go in 2024, he had prepared for 3 months to make a trip to explore Xinjiang this summer. 8 days of wandering took him through a series of destinations, including Hemu, the most beautiful village in China. "This is where you can escape the hustle and bustle to immerse yourself in photographic creativity. Traditional wooden houses, beautiful Tibetan Buddhist culture and surrounding wild forests create a peaceful, pristine village," Ha Hien shared. Photo: NVCCA trip to Xinjiang would not be complete without a destination like Sailimu Lake, one of the autonomous region’s largest and highest alpine lakes. The lake is located at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters above sea level and boasts breathtaking scenery. Many people romantically call Sailimu “the last teardrop of the Atlantic.”Walking around the lake, you will be surrounded by lakes, smooth green grass and rows of snow-capped mountains. Going in the summer like Ha Hien, you can also admire the fields of yellow flowers blooming by the lake. "I am very happy to lie on the grass, in the middle of the fields of flowers swaying in the cold wind blowing from the Altay snowy mountains, leisurely riding on a horse, immersing myself in the surreal beauty of the Kalajun steppe," the young man recounted.Kanas Nature Reserve is one of the destinations that Ha Hien particularly impressed. In Mongolian, Kanas means “beautiful, rich and mysterious”. Here, there is Kanas Lake, located at an altitude of 1,374m above sea level, in the dense forests of the Altai Mountains. Hien suggests that when coming here, don’t miss the Fairy Bay - a swamp formed by the Kanas River at the low point of its mountain stream. There is also Moon Bay, a bend of the Kanas River, located above Wolong Bay. Due to the difference in altitude at the bottom of the lake, the change in upstream water flow and the influence of light, Moon Bay appears splendid and changes color. Photo: NVCCNalati is known as the “steppe in the sky” because it is located at an altitude of more than 3,000m above sea level with rich vegetation and marine life. Photo: NVCCHa Hien spent 2 days in Nalati to roam around this grassland, enjoying nature with all his senses. The memories in Nalati were so beautiful that the 9x guy said that "just looking at the photos, I can remember all the emotions at that time". Photo: NVCCIn addition to the smooth green patches of grasslands, forests, mountains, and lakes, Xinjiang is also famous for the demon city of Urho, formed in the Cretaceous period (100 million years ago). Once a giant freshwater lake, Urho is now just a vast desert with a dry, ghostly beauty that makes anyone who comes here feel like they are lost in a strange land. Urho is known as the demon city and is the setting for many famous films such as Zhang Yimou's Hero, Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... Photo: NVCCThe last day of the Xinjiang journey ended with the image of the Duku Highway, which is only open for 4 months a year. What was more special was when Ha Hien witnessed the phenomenon of snowfall in the middle of summer while driving on the 561km Duku Highway, looking at the majestic Dushanzi Gorge on the side of the road while regretfully admiring the natural beauty of this place.
