The Complex of historical and cultural relics of Phuong Vu Temple - Pagoda (also known as Mua Pagoda) is located in Vu Thu commune, Hung Yen province; built from the Ly Dynasty, more than 900 years ago. This place worships De Tam Thanh To Ly from the Ly Dynasty, National Master Tu Dao Hanh and King Ly Than Tong - who contributed to helping people grow rice, grow mulberry, build dikes to sow seeds, build dikes to treat floods, eliminate diseases and harm rice and treat diseases to save people...



According to the elderly in the village, during the anti-French resistance war, Phuong Vu Temple - pagoda was a place to shelter, gather and operate for cadres, soldiers, militia, and guerrillas throughout the area belonging to Thu Tri district.
From this secret shelter, the people of Tho Loc and Minh Khai nurtured and rescued officers and soldiers; used it as a stopover, listening to and taking advantage of the loopholes of the French army and spies throughout the region to choose the appropriate opportunity to cross Highway 10 (the route is located near Phuong Vu Pagoda).
Today, Phuong Vu Pagoda carries typical characteristics of traditional Vietnamese pagoda architecture. The overall space of the pagoda is arranged according to the main axis, creating balance and solemnity. The architectural items of the front hall, main hall and auxiliary works are arranged according to the popular village pagoda model in the Northern Delta region.



One of the outstanding values of Phuong Vu Pagoda architecture is the art of decoration and carving. On components such as forks, surplus heads, porches, wooden door systems decorated with flowers and leaves, animals, dragons, phoenixes...


Ms. Pham Thi Nhu Phong - Secretary of the Party Committee of Vu Thu commune, Hung Yen province said that in order to preserve and promote national identity, every year the pagoda opens a festival at the beginning of Spring on the 9th and 10th days of the first lunar month to commemorate the merits of the Holy Spirit, who has made many great contributions to the people and to the country and pray for national peace, people's peace, favorable weather, and bumper crops.
