Xom Mung is a Muong ethnic village located halfway up the mountain. To get here, visitors have to overcome winding and dangerous roads. However, after a long journey, the scenery that opens before the eyes of travel lovers is astonishing.
The cherry blossoms in Mung hamlet are in full bloom, clusters of flowers blooming, intertwining with each other, creating giant pink carpets against the blue sky.
The branches stretch long and soft, embracing each winding path. Under the canopy of flowers, the young leaves sway gently in the wind, further enhancing the pure and gentle beauty of this flower.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "I have seen cherry blossoms in many places, but the feeling when standing in the middle of the flower forest in Xom Mung is really different. The air is fresh, the space is peaceful, the flowers are brilliant."
According to Ms. Hoa, in addition to the cherry blossom garden, Mung hamlet also has gently sloping terraced fields, yellow mustard flower gardens in the afternoon sun, and a quiet, fresh space. Each season, Mung hamlet has its own beauty.
"I have been here many times and will definitely come back" - this female tourist shared.
Walking on small streets covered with fallen flower petals, Ms. Nguyen Nhat Ha (Hanoi) also enjoyed capturing beautiful moments with charming natural scenery.
Ms. Ha shared: "Not only can you take photos and check-in, visitors can also enjoy specialties of the highlands such as bamboo rice, grilled meat, wild honey or rice wine.
Small roadside shops with rustic, intimate spaces bring a warm and familiar feeling. Many people choose to sit under the flowers, sip hot tea, let their souls follow the wind and enjoy the rare peace.
Ms. Pham Thuy, owner of the cherry blossom garden in Mung hamlet, said that her family started planting cherry blossoms in 2020, but the trees will not begin to bloom until winter 2024.
"I got this flower variety from many places, including bringing it here from Da Lat. Growing cherry blossoms in Hoa Binh is really a challenge and also quite risky because no one has grown it before.
When I first planted the tree, every dry season, dozens of trees died. I did not give up, I learned more experience from reputable gardeners, read more about how to take care of the tree from information online by fertilizing, pruning, preventing fungus, and preventing wilting leaves every year so that the tree can grow well" - the garden owner said.
The entrance fee to the cherry blossom garden in Xom Mung is 80,000 VND/person, and for visitors from Hoa Binh, there is a preferential price of 50,000 VND/person. Every day, this place welcomes about 100 visitors.
From a remote village of the Muong ethnic group, Mung hamlet has become a check-in spot attracting tourists.
The leader of Hop Phong Commune People's Committee said: "In the coming time, the local government and people hope that the superiors will have a plan and orientation to develop Mung hamlet into a community tourism destination. From there, it will open up a new direction of development, creating more livelihoods for the people."
Currently, Mung hamlet also has plans to restore ancient stilt houses on terraced fields, build galleries, revive traditional cultural features of the Muong people, thereby helping to attract tourists to learn and experience.
