Kaohsiung City has become one of the attractive destinations loved by many Vietnamese tourists when they have the opportunity to visit Taiwan (China).

Visit Fo Guang Shan Temple

Located on Tongling Road, Dashu District, Kaohsiung City, Fo Guang Shan Temple is the headquarters of the Fo Guang Shan International Buddhist Organization and the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan. The temple is built on a mountaintop, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The Fo Guang Shan Monastery covers an area of 100 hectares, with a lotus-shaped layout. The temple's architecture is inspired by the Stupa and Mahabodhi Temple in the Buddhist holy land of Bodh Gaya in India, but still retains the unique identity of ancient Chinese Buddhism.

Visiting the temple, visitors will be overwhelmed by the giant Buddha statue of Quang Son, the tallest in the world, along with massive architectural works including 8 stupas, 4 Chanh Giac Towers, 48 underground palaces, 8 heavenly palaces and tens of thousands of large and small Buddha statues. In particular, the temple is also the place to keep the Buddha's tooth relic preserved at the Jade Buddha Temple along with many other Buddhist treasures and antiques.

If you are a follower of spiritual tourism, you cannot miss this impressive destination rich in cultural and religious values.

Try making pineapple cake

Like Japanese mochi or Korean rice cakes, pineapple cakes are a must-try specialty when visiting Taiwan (China). Among them, taking part in pineapple cake making classes is also an interesting experience to try in Kaohsiung.

In the class, visitors will be able to make their own small, pretty cakes in many different shapes. The cake crust is thin, fragrant with butter and milk, with pineapple jam filling in many different flavors. The finished cakes will be baked and packaged for visitors to enjoy on the spot or take home as gifts.

Taiwanese people (China) believe that pineapple cakes with the taste of their homeland can bring good luck to those who enjoy them. Therefore, pineapple cakes become a delicious and meaningful gift that tourists can bring back.
