Ancient temple marks the glorious revolution of Nam Dinh people

Am Temple is located on a 2,685m2 plot of land in Nam Giang town (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province). Around the temple are many perennial trees creating a cool, fresh atmosphere. This is where local people worship and show gratitude to the merits of the Holy Founder, Zen Master Bui Hue To (1566 - 1641).

The main temple has a "gōng" letters-shaped architecture including the following items: front hall, middle hall, and forbidden palace.

In 2012, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to recognize Am Temple as a national relic, due to its outstanding historical, architectural and artistic values.

"Existing along with the formation and development of the village, Am Temple is also a place that marks many important historical events, associated with the two resistance wars against France and the US, marking the revolutionary movement of the local people. With a location far from residential areas, located in the middle of fields, open space, and surrounded by many trees, during the resistance period, the temple was chosen by the Party cell and the government as a place for secret meetings, a contact point with the northern communes of Nam Truc district", said Mr. Cao Xuan Nghi - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Giang town.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tan (Nam Giang town, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) shared: "Not only is it a national relic that needs to be protected, Am temple is also a place that has been closely associated with the lives of our people for generations. Every month, on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar month, people in our area come to the temple to burn incense and pray for peace and luck."
