At the end of November, wild sunflowers bloom in Ba Vi National Park, attracting a large number of locals and tourists to visit and take photos.
Duong Thi Xuan (student, Hanoi) and a group of friends from Hanoi city went to Ba Vi to hunt clouds and see wild sunflowers last weekend.
Xuan said: "Our group saw an introduction about Ba Vi wild sunflowers on TikTok. We knew it would be crowded on the weekend, but we wanted to take advantage of the day off, so we still went."
From Hanoi city center, Xuan's group drove motorbikes to Ba Vi at noon on November 16, resting overnight to prepare to wake up early the next day to hunt clouds and see wild sunflowers.
"Unable to hunt clouds, we drove to the foot of the pass, an area with wild sunflowers on both sides of Ba Vi National Park. From here, I saw traffic jams, motorbikes moving slowly step by step. We also got lost in the crowded crowd", Xuan shared.
According to the female tourist, because of the large crowd of people looking at the flowers, parking their vehicles all along the way up caused traffic congestion. Therefore, the group of friends could only go halfway up the pass before having to stop and turn around to return home.
The female tourist added: "Most tourists only come to take pictures with the flowers and are conscious of protecting the landscape. However, there are still some people who pick flowers and throw them away on the street. Because there are so many visitors, it is difficult for authorities to remind and control them."
Ms. Le Thi My Le, a local resident, said that wild sunflowers in Ba Vi have been blooming since October, but they start to bloom most beautifully in November. On weekends, visitors from everywhere flock here from 3am, causing traffic jams that last until the afternoon.
"These days, traffic police and officials from Ba Vi National Park are standing by to direct traffic and assist tourists, but because of the large number of vehicles, they are unable to cope. Some young people rev their engines and exhausts early in the morning, waking up the locals," said Ms. Le.
According to Ms. Le, the crowded situation only lasts on weekends. On weekdays, there are also visitors coming here to see flowers and hunt clouds, but not many. Therefore, locals often avoid weekends to check-in and sightsee.
"To avoid congestion and crowds, visitors should choose to go during the week. If you go to see flowers on the weekend, you should go at noon or in the afternoon. This time you can't hunt clouds, but the wild sunflowers are still beautiful, and taking photos won't be crowded with people in the frame," said Ms. Le.
According to Mr. Do Huu The - Director of Ba Vi National Park, during the 2 weekend days, the park welcomed over 26,000 visitors, of which on November 17 alone, it welcomed about 19,700 visitors.
The number of visitors to the National Park is very large during the wild sunflower season. To date, the National Park has recorded a peak day of over 21,000 visitors.
To ensure traffic safety, the National Park staff has coordinated with local traffic police to be on duty to direct traffic, support tourists and handle violations. The National Park also proactively updates weather information and traffic developments on the website, fan page, Zalo, and makes announcements on loudspeakers.
Ba Vi National Park was established in 1991, located in the Ba Vi mountain range, in the territory of 15 mountainous communes of Ba Vi, Thach That, Quoc Oai districts, Hanoi city and Luong Son district and Hoa Binh city of Hoa Binh province. The national park has an area of 10,814.6 hectares. The national park is 50 km from the center of Hanoi, an ideal destination for families and tourists to visit on weekends.
In addition to hunting clouds and admiring wild sunflowers in Ba Vi National Park, visitors can also come here to relax and visit some destinations in the area such as Khoang Xanh - Suoi Tien, Ao Vua, Thien Son - Suoi Nga...
