On the morning of February 3rd, news from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Heritage Conservation Center said that the unit had sent a document to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the organization of the "Sparkling Legend" program at the Ponagar Tower National Special Relic.
According to reports, from January to December 2025, the Center organized 16 art programs "Lung linh huyen thoai" on the full moon and first day of the lunar month at the relic.
Among them, there are 8 "Linh thiêng xứ Trầm" programs taking place on the evening of the 1st and 8 "Trăng soi dáng tháp" programs organized on the full moon night.
The programs are elaborately staged, ensuring artistic quality, and receiving positive feedback from a part of local people and tourists.
The activity initially contributes to creating a cultural highlight, supplementing nighttime tourism products at Ponagar Tower.
However, economic efficiency has not reached the set target. Specifically, 16 programs sold about 400 tickets, with revenue of about 12 million VND.
Meanwhile, the cost of signing a performance contract with the Provincial Traditional Art Theater is 8.5 million VND/program, equivalent to a total cost of 136 million VND for 16 sessions, not including other organizational costs.
In terms of finance, the program has not ensured revenue-expenditure balance, generating large expenses from the unit's regular operating budget.
Continuing to maintain the program in the current conditions will create great pressure on funding, human resources and organizational work.
Therefore, the Center proposes to temporarily suspend the program organization in the near future to review and comprehensively evaluate, study plans to adjust the content and form of organization or build more appropriate cultural and artistic products, and submit them to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
Also according to news from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, in February, the cultural sector will hold an inter-sectoral meeting to discuss solutions to organize the "Lung linh huyen thoai" program in a more effective and sustainable direction.
In which, functional agencies are promoting and searching for tourism businesses and travel agencies to cooperate and bring programs into fixed tours.
This is expected not only to contribute to spreading the image of the Special National Relic Ponagar Tower but also to help tourism businesses have more new nightlife tourism products in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
