Recently, many fanpages have appeared impersonating famous accommodation establishments such as Poseido Hotel Quang Binh, SAM Quang Binh Hotel, Bang Onsen Resort & Spa, Phong Nha - Ecostay Pagoda... These pages are set up with names, images, and content similar to real fanpages, even with green spaces and running ads to create reliability.
The tricks of the subjects are to post attractive promotional information and cheap room rates to attract interested people. When customers contacted, they impersonated hotel staff, asking for a deposit transfer or pre-payment via personal account.
After receiving the money, the subjects continued to trick customers into submitting more documents with many reasons and then cut off contact and did not provide the services as promised.
Quang Binh Provincial Police recommend that people and tourists should be vigilant, should only book rooms through the official website or contact the accommodation facility directly to verify information.
Absolutely do not transfer money to unclear personal accounts and should immediately report to the authorities if you detect signs of fraud.
For accommodation establishments, it is necessary to make information on the fanpage transparent such as name, address, phone number, website and official account.
At the same time, regularly review, detect fake pages and promptly warn customers.
The police agency called on organizations and individuals to coordinate in providing information and evidence to investigate and strictly handle violations.
