The Kinh Thien Temple Festival 2026 with the theme Huyen Thien Co Dan will be held at 7 pm on April 26 at Kinh Thien Temple (Thung Ui Cultural Area), Tay Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province.
The festival is organized to recreate one of the sacred milestones of national history, associated with the event of King Dinh Tien Hoang establishing a altar to worship heaven, proclaiming himself emperor, and the birth of the Dai Co Viet state in 968. This is not only a ritual of spiritual significance but also a symbol of the will for independence, self-reliance and aspiration to build the country.
The Kinh Thien Dance Festival 2026 has a scale of 30,000 participants with the participation of 2,500 actors and artists. The highlight of the program is the outdoor real-scene stage, elaborately staged in the natural space of heaven and earth. Here, traditional sky worship rituals will be vividly recreated, combined with modern performance art, creating a large scene that is both magnificent and rich in cultural depth.
Besides artistic value, the Kinh Thien Dance Festival 2026 is also an opportunity for visitors to experience and learn about history and culture visually. Also at Thung Ui Cultural Area, visitors can listen to historical stories, explore archaeological knowledge, and learn about the heaven worship ritual - an important ritual in the spiritual life of ancient Vietnamese people.
