Recently, in Da Nang City, cruise ship tourists are recovering and growing rapidly. According to statistics from the Da Nang Tourism Industry, in the first 10 months of 2024, the city welcomed 27 cruise ships with 32,550 passengers, an increase of 5 cruise ships and 14,450 passengers compared to the total number of the whole year 2023. It is expected that in 2024, Da Nang City will welcome more than 40,000 cruise ship visitors for sightseeing and tourism, an increase of 120% compared to 2023.
Recently, the Noordam cruise ship (Netherlands) docked at Tien Sa port, bringing 2,000 international passengers to visit Da Nang. This is one of the large tourist groups from Europe and America by sea.
Previously, the cruise ship Costa Serena departed from Hong Kong port (China) and brought 3,500 international tourists to Tien Sa port. Tourists visited prominent destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, the special national monument Ngu Hanh Son, explored cultural and culinary experiences, shopped for local specialties, watched the sea, visited Son Tra peninsula and Hoi An ancient town.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism said that the Department of Tourism is continuing to coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors and units according to their functions in the process of welcoming cruise ship passengers, including ensuring the tourism environment, security and safety during the times of welcoming cruise ship passengers, the process of welcoming and serving cruise ships bringing international tourists to Da Nang.
With the support of the city's Border Guard and Da Nang port units, when the ship docks, immigration procedures for passengers are carried out quickly and in a friendly manner, creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit and shop.
