The Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police has officially launched a peak period of general control and handling of violations against commercial vehicles operating on both road and waterway.
This peak period will last from July 25 to August 25 with the goal of tightening management, ensuring traffic order and safety, while contributing to preventing and reducing traffic accidents in the city.
In the road sector, the Traffic Police force focuses on strictly handling common violations such as: using alcohol and drugs while driving a vehicle; speeding; carrying goods exceeding the prescribed load or carrying more people; stopping, parking or picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong place; changing lanes incorrectly; not complying with the instructions of the authorities; driving a vehicle without an inspection certificate or an expired inspection certificate.
In particular, the authorities will also conduct a comprehensive check of data from the journey monitoring system, driver images and transport business conditions according to regulations.
For control activities on waterways, the focus is on handling violations such as: unregistered or unregistered vehicles; not meeting technical safety standards; arbitrarily converting vehicles in violation of regulations; transporting goods or passengers exceeding the safety water markings; lacking essential life-saving equipment; violating safety regulations at ports, ferry terminals and tourist wharves.
Key waterways such as Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham, the Han River and Thu Bon River areas - places with high passenger transport density and many potential safety risks - will be especially tightly controlled.
To ensure the effectiveness of the peak period, the Traffic Police Department mobilized 100% of its forces, organized patrols and controls continuously 24/24 hours at hot spots for traffic safety and order in the area. All violations will be strictly handled in accordance with the spirit of "respect for the law", with the principle of "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
In addition to inspection and handling of violations, the City Traffic Police force also promotes propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic safety and order to organizations and individuals operating in the field of transportation business.
Transportation businesses are required to strictly ensure the technical conditions of the vehicle, strengthen control of the quality of the driver team, especially completely prevent the situation of drivers using alcohol, drugs or driving vehicles when not meeting the prescribed health requirements.
