Excitedly listening to hat boi on a double-decker river bus along the Saigon River, British tourist Rae Dillon captured every moment with photos and videos.
"It was a wonderful feeling. I really enjoyed this tour because it was great. I got to see the beautiful scenery of Ho Chi Minh City along the river, and also see Vietnamese media art and culture here" - Ms. Rae Dillon shared.
According to the records, the upper deck of the 2-deck ship was full of passengers. With a 360-degree view, residents and tourists can enjoy the whole city and "glide" past iconic structures such as Nha Rong Wharf, Bitexco Building, Landmark 81, Thu Thiem 2 Bridge and many other structures along the two banks of the Saigon River.
In this setting, there is a small stage on the ship recreating the art of hat boi - an art form that bears the mark of Vietnamese history and culture.
Meritorious Artist Linh Hien said that hat boi is a traditional art form of the nation. When this art form is introduced to the people, domestic and international tourists in the space of a tourist train, the artist herself feels moved and tries to convey the essence of hat boi art.
Experience the new art of hat boi - Saigon Art Cruise on a double-decker river bus taking place every Saturday evening in January 2025.
The boat departs from Bach Dang Wharf (District 1) with a journey of only 45 minutes.
According to Mr. Nguyen Kim Toan - Director of Thuong Nhat Company - the owner of Saigon WaterBus and Saigon WaterGo, organizing and restoring programs about traditional Vietnamese art is for people and tourists to enjoy Vietnamese culture. From there, preserve national identity.
"The company organized this experimental tour in January and recorded the interest and reception from locals and tourists," said Mr. Toan.
