On June 29, An Giang Provincial People's Council held the 3rd session (Specialized Session) of the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031. At the session, the draft Resolution on Promulgating entrance fees to Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area scenic spots, An Giang province was approved.
The Resolution stipulates the collection, payment, management and use of fees for visiting scenic spots of Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area. Applicable to organizations and individuals (including Vietnamese and foreigners) related to sightseeing and tourism activities at Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area.
Organize fee collection for the An Giang Marine Protected Area Management Board (a unit directly under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province). Fee level 30,000 VND/person/turn (including insurance premium).
Among them, the subjects eligible for exemption are Children under 6 years old; People with particularly severe disabilities. The subjects eligible for a 50% fee reduction are Children from 6 years old to under 16 years old; People entitled to preferential policies for cultural enjoyment as prescribed in Article 2 of Decision No. 170/2003/QD-TTg on "Policies for preferential cultural enjoyment"; People with severe disabilities; Elderly people.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area scenic relic, Kien Giang province has been ranked as a provincial-level scenic relic in Decision No. 3052/QD-UBND dated December 4, 2009 of the Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee. On August 26, 2010, Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 20/2010/QD-UBND on issuing fees for visiting the scenic relic of Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area, Kien Giang province. The unit managing Phu Quoc Marine Protected Area has organized the implementation of Decision No. 20/2010/QD-UBND, with a collection level of 5,000 VND/person/visit (including insurance fee).
After a period of implementing sightseeing fees with a collection level of 5,000 VND/person/turn, this collection level is now very low compared to the sightseeing fees of marine protected areas/National parks with marine components.
Therefore, the Management Board of An Giang Marine Protected Area proposed a fee of 30,000 VND/person/trip (including insurance premium), the fee is applied uniformly to Vietnamese people and foreigners.
