Indonesia - Bali will temporarily suspend all tourism activities for 24 hours on March 29 to celebrate Nyepi Day.

Nyepi Day is also known as the Day of the Silent People of Bali. This is the most sacred festival for Hinduism in Bali.

All residents and visitors, regardless of religion, need to respect this tradition, according to The Bali Sun.

According to the Bali calendar, Nyepi will fall on Saturday, March 29. For 24 hours, the entire island will be completely closed - no bright lights, no music or noise allowed to be played. All vehicles will be stopped and everyone will have to stay indoors.

Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali will temporarily suspend operations from 6:00 a.m. on March 29 to 6:00 a.m. on March 30. Passengers in transit will have to stay inside the airport during this time.

Therefore, tourists planning to visit Bali at this time should prepare travel plans in advance and plan appropriate entertainment and dining.

Bali was named the most beautiful island in Asia at this year's Reader's Choice Awards organized by travel magazine DestinAsian.

In 2024, Indonesia's most famous island welcomed 6.3 million international visitors, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. This year, Bali aims to attract 6.5 million tourists.
