On September 2, according to Lao Dong, each day, about 5,000 visitors come to visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua (Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district).

Ms. Dang Thi Ha (from Le Thuy district, currently working in Quang Tri province) said that every year, on the occasion of Independence Day, September 2, her family returns to her hometown to watch racing, rowing, and playing volleyball.
“The atmosphere here is very vibrant, Independence Day in Le Thuy is also likened to Lunar New Year. If you are a Le Thuy person living far away, you will try your best to arrange your work to return home to watch the traditional festival of racing and boating. This cultural feature is ingrained in every Le Thuy person,” said Ms. Ha.
On the morning of September 2, the traditional boat racing festival on Kien Giang River was held. This year, the festival had the participation of 1,500 athletes divided into 24 men's boats and 9 women's racing boats.
In the final results, for the men's team, the first place in class A belonged to Quy Dat team, the first place in class B belonged to Thach Ban team. For the women's team, the first place belonged to An Xa team, the second place belonged to Phu Tho team.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center (under the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board) said that in the first two days of the September 2nd holiday, the unit welcomed about 17,000 visitors. An increase of 40% compared to the same period last year.
