According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 10-30mm, and some places experiencing over 60mm. Rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and at night.
The area from Quang Tri to Phu Yen, the Southern Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy to very heavy rain. Dak Nong, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall as follows: Lam Dong province from 10-30mm, some places over 60mm; Dak Nong and Binh Thuan provinces from 10-20mm, some places over 30mm.
The Meteorological Agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
Around October 11-12, the continental cold high pressure is weakened and shifted back to the East. The equatorial low pressure trough slightly lifts its axis to the North through the South Central - South regions, and around October 11-12, it tends to slowly shift to the South.
From October 14 onwards, rain tends to decrease and occur sporadically, concentrated in the afternoon and evening, and sunny during the day.
