According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the area from Phu Yen to Binh Thuan, the Southern Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 50mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the situation causing thunderstorms in Ho Chi Minh City is the continental high pressure weakening and moving to the East. From October 1, the continental cold high pressure will strengthen to the North of our country, compressing and pushing the low pressure trough to gradually move south through the South Central region. The wind will change direction and become weak over the southern seas. Above, the subtropical high pressure will continue to encroach on the West, gradually weakening from September 29 to 30.
Therefore, the weather in the Southern region is sunny during the day, with thunderstorms in the evening and at night. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Beware of the possibility of heavy rain causing localized flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage capacity.
The meteorological agency forecasts that in the Central Highlands and the South, during the peak rainy season from September to November, rainfall will be 5-30% higher than the average of many years.
The water level on the Dong Nai River at Ta Lai is changing slowly. Residents and tourists need to be on guard against the possibility of heavy rain combined with floods causing inundation, landslides on river banks, streams, and low-lying areas in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts of Dong Nai province and neighboring areas.
