According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on September 29, a band of bad weather appeared causing rain in the North before the monsoon arrived. The North and Thanh Hoa regions had moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 50-100mm, locally over 200mm.
The Hydrometeorological Station of the Northern Delta and Midlands forecasts that around September 30 and October 1, the North will receive another cold spell of quite strong intensity causing scattered showers and thunderstorms; the weather will turn cold, with the lowest temperature at 21-22 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas, below 20 degrees Celsius.
Other areas will have sunny days, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening; in the Central Highlands and the South, scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur in the late afternoon and evening of September 30.
The provinces of Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, Dak Nong, and Lam Dong are forecast to have rain with the following common rainfall amounts: Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Dak Nong from 20-50mm, some places over 70mm; Lam Dong from 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.
