On September 2nd, An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism said that during the 5-day holiday of National Day (from August 29th to September 2nd, 2026), An Giang is estimated to welcome more than 580,000 visitors to visit and travel, an increase of 40.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, there were more than 26,800 international visitors, an increase of 48.2% compared to the same period; average room occupancy reached over 62.2%, an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period. Total tourism revenue of An Giang reached about 880.5 billion VND, an increase of 72.3% compared to the same period.
Phu Quoc special zone alone is estimated to welcome more than 116,400 visitors, an increase of 42.9% compared to the same period; of which, there are more than 26,000 international visitors, an increase of 45.9% compared to the same period.
According to Director of An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai, in general, tourism activities during the holidays are quite bustling; key tourist localities have strengthened coordination, ensuring traffic safety, ensuring security and order, especially at wharves, ports, tourist areas and entertainment areas, not allowing the situation of touting and overcharging tourists to occur. Ensuring environmental sanitation, food safety, and fire and explosion prevention are ensured.
Tourism service business establishments strictly implement the provisions of law on tourism service business; proactively develop plans to arrange human resources, equipment, support tourists, maintain good technical facilities, service quality is always guaranteed, and prices are clearly listed.

However, during the holidays, the weather situation with rain and thunderstorms (due to the impact of the tropical depression) somewhat affected tourism activities, especially outdoor entertainment activities.
In addition, the 2026 National Day holiday is close to the start of school, domestic tourists have just gone through summer vacation, while international tourists are in the low season, so the number of visitors to An Giang for sightseeing and tourism has increased compared to the same period, but the increase is not high.
