On April 4, information from the Foreign Investment Enterprises Association said that it had just coordinated with the Tourism Association of North Central provinces to organize a seminar "Connecting to promote tourism development in North Central provinces during the low season".
Attending were Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism; Mr. Tran Xuan Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An; Mr. Tran Xuan Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh; Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises (VAFIE) and many delegates and businesses.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the North Central region has many advantages for tourism development thanks to abundant resources, unique cultural identity and convenient transportation systems. In recent years, localities have focused on investing in infrastructure and improving service quality.
However, regional tourism has not yet fully exploited its potential, and has not made a breakthrough to become a key economic sector.
At the seminar, the presentations focused on clarifying the development orientation of low season tourism, especially in winter. Opinions suggested that it is necessary to build products suitable for weather conditions, exploit cultural and ecological values, promote promotion and improve service quality.
Mr. Ha Van Sieu emphasized that to effectively exploit low season tourism, localities need to synchronously implement solutions on products, markets, infrastructure, policies and regional linkages.
This is an important solution to overcome seasonality, extend the length of stay of tourists, improve the efficiency of using technical facilities and towards sustainable tourism development," Mr. Sieu said.
From a local perspective, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Ha - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Tourism Association - said that Nghe An has great potential but winter tourism has not yet been effective due to unsynchronized infrastructure, products are still monotonous, lack of linkage and promotion is not strong enough.
According to Ms. Ha, in the coming time, it is necessary to restructure the tourism model towards multi-season, integrating cultural - ecological - resort - event values to increase the attractiveness of destinations.
At the seminar, the issue of investment and upgrading tourism infrastructure was identified as a key content to meet the development needs of the low season. Delegates also proposed strengthening links between aviation, railways, accommodation, golf courses, MICE tourism and cultural - spiritual tourism to form a synchronous product chain.
The seminar recorded many opinions from businesses on the need for cooperation, market connection, and sharing experiences in attracting international visitors.
Notably, associations and businesses have signed memorandums of understanding on tourism development cooperation, aiming to strengthen regional linkages.
Delegates assessed that the coordinating role of local authorities and tourism associations is a key factor in connecting parties, contributing to building a sustainable tourism ecosystem for the North Central region.
