During the 2025 Lunar New Year holidays, the weather in Ninh Binh is quite nice, suitable for tourists to visit the spring scenery. The spiritual tourist area of Bai Dinh Pagoda Mountain is one of the places that always attracts a lot of tourists during the New Year, on average, it welcomes over 30,000 visitors per day, with peak days welcoming nearly 70,000 visitors.
A representative of the Management Board of Bai Dinh Pagoda Cultural and Spiritual Tourism Area said that to serve the needs of people going to the pagoda and praying for good luck, the Management Board of this tourist area has opened throughout Tet.
On the morning of the first day of Tet, the Management Board of this tourist area mobilized hundreds of tour guides and staff to be on duty early to ensure a safe and thoughtful welcome for guests. Therefore, during the entire Tet holiday, the welcoming activities took place smoothly, contributing to bringing warm and peaceful spring trips to visitors.
The temple management board has proactively developed plans to welcome guests early, with special attention paid to security and order, fire prevention, and ensuring solemnity in the temple.
This year, the pagoda's management board also added a number of activities to enhance the experience and introduce culture to visitors from all over, such as the custom of asking for the first words of the year and writing wishes on Bodhi tree leaves.
"In particular, the experience of printing, using ancient woodblocks to create images or Buddhist symbols is a unique experience, bearing the mark of traditional Vietnamese culture, attracting a large number of tourists and Buddhists to learn and experience" - a representative of the Management Board of the spiritual tourism area of Bai Dinh Pagoda Mountain shared.
In addition to the Bai Dinh Pagoda spiritual tourist area, other tourist areas and destinations in Ninh Binh such as: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Monument, Trang An Eco-tourism Area, Mua Cave, Thung Nham, Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Hoa Lu Ancient Town... also welcomed a large number of visitors during the Lunar New Year 2025.
Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said that during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday in 2025, tourist areas and spots in Ninh Binh province welcomed more than 700,000 visitors, an increase of 17% compared to 2024. Of which, there were more than 130,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue is estimated at nearly 1,000 billion VND, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the Lunar New Year in 2024.
"The highlight of this year's Lunar New Year is that, in addition to domestic visitors, all tourist areas and spots recorded a large number of international visitors. Many markets have seen a clear increase in the number of visitors to Ninh Binh such as Korea, Japan, India... This signal shows the attractiveness and prospects of Ninh Binh tourism for international visitors, especially potential markets with high spending ability" - Mr. Manh shared.
