According to the Vietnam Aviation Administration, ticket prices tend to increase but appear mainly on the beginning and end of the holiday season. For the days between holidays, basic ticket prices are relatively stable, keeping the same level as the days before the holiday.

Comparing with data from the peak holiday period of April 30 - May 1, 2024, air ticket prices for the September 2 holiday are considered to have decreased significantly and maintained a stable rhythm during the past summer. Accordingly, the price of basic economy class passenger transportation services on domestic routes during this period is lower, fluctuating 40%-60% with the maximum according to regulations.

Vietnam Airlines reported that in the period from August 30, 2024 to September 3, 2024, airlines will operate a total of 4,257 flights, an average of 840 flights/day, an increase of 3% compared to the week before the holiday and an increase 3.5% over the same period in 2023.

In particular, the average number of domestic flights is 600 flights/day, an increase of 5% compared to the week before the holiday and an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2023. The average number of international flights is 241 flights/day , down 2% from the week before the holiday and up 5.1% over the same period in 2023.

Particularly for the North - South domestic route (connecting Hanoi - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnamese airlines have stepped up operations with a high number of flights, an average of 241 flights/day. Domestic tourist routes (to Vinh, Binh Dinh, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc) and flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to localities are also promoted by airlines, with an average of 171 flights/day. days on domestic tourist routes and 187 flights/day to other localities, an increase of 2% and 4% respectively compared to the week before the holiday.

To better serve domestic flight operations for the September 2 holiday, operations on international routes of Vietnamese airlines have decreased slightly (2%).

However, the number of international flights is still increasing, with the total number of flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet operating an average of 27 flights/day, an increase of 5% compared to before the holiday and an increase of 95% over the same period. last year. The number of other international flights decreased slightly, with an average of 213 flights/day, down 3% compared to the week before the holiday and down 0.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Thanks to increasing the number of flights during the coming holidays, especially on domestic routes, Vietnamese airlines can supplement the supply of seats to the market.
