The incident happened on October 29 when a female tourist posted photos and videos of herself doing a headstand pose and yoga in front of Gwanghwamun Square - the largest gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, South Korea.
Public opinion in Vietnam has been fiercely debated over this action. Some opinions say that the tourist did not violate any regulations at the tourist attraction, while many others criticize this action as “inappropriate” and “offensive”.
Responding to the incident, an official from the Cultural Heritage Administration said: “We ensure that visitors can visit and experience freely without damaging the dignity of cultural heritage.”
The relevant agencies “will consider establishing guidelines to prevent similar cases in the future,” the person added.
In addition, Koreans also have mixed opinions about the behavior of foreign tourists. Some opinions point out that the female tourist did not affect anyone or break the law, but many opinions criticize the above actions as “strange”, “rude” and inappropriate in public.
