Coming to Ben Ninh Kieu with friends on the weekend, Tran Le Thuy Anh (O Mon ward, Can Tho city) said she had booked a photo package including costumes and makeup at the studio since the end of November.
Explaining the reason for booking early, Thuy Anh said: Early booking helps us proactively spend time and comfortably take the most satisfactory photos. Although there are still about 2 months left until Tet, the atmosphere here is bustling, everyone wants to take beautiful photos to welcome spring".
For students, Ao Dai rental services are the top choice thanks to their convenience and affordability.
Nguyen Anh Thu - a student at Can Tho University - shared: "Currently, the rental service is very diverse, with prices ranging from only 80,000 - 150,000 VND/set, but accessories are still available. Wearing traditional costumes, I feel very proud and eagerly waiting for beautiful photos.
On the contrary, for those who have more money to work, such as Ms. Nguyen Dan Thanh (Tan An ward, Can Tho city), she spent nearly 2 million VND to privatelyend for 2 Ao Dai sets. According to Ms. Thanh, although more expensive than ready-made garments, she can choose the material and style according to her preferences and can reuse them for many other occasions.
The season of "eating should be done"
For beauty services, photography, renting or sewing ao dai... Tet is the "eating should-do" season, helping to increase income significantly.
Mr. Huy Hoang (a photographer in Can Tho City) said that his schedule from now until Tet is only a few days away. The reason comes from the trend of people taking Tet photos early in recent years. Over the years, customer requirements have increased. This requires him to constantly update trends, while also preparing clothes and makeup to support customers in the package.
Customers are increasingly willing to invest and book photo shoots early. My Tet photo packages range from 500,000 - 1.5 million VND/combo. To be on time for service, we have to take advantage of the day to take photos and at night to edit according to customer requests. Although it is a bit difficult, earning a few million VND a day is normal, said Mr. Hoang.
Meanwhile, Ms. Thu Thuy's ao dai shop (Ninh Kieu ward, Can Tho city) is also busy returning orders to customers. According to Ms. Thuy, since mid-November, the number of orders has poured in, with all prices, from affordable to high-end.
"Currently, Ao Dai models at the store range from 300,000 to more than 1 million VND/set. For rental, it is from 120,000 - 200,000 VND/set, including additional accessories such as plots, implementations, fans, flowers... With the current number of customers, this year's revenue can increase by over 30% compared to last year. Currently, we have stopped accepting tailoring and are only focusing on renting and selling available models, Ms. Thuy shared.
