According to the National Civil Aviation Authority, during the peak summer period of 2025 (from August 15 to 15, 2025), Vietnamese airlines plan to operate 68,558 domestic flights (an average of 745 flights/day), an increase of 21% and 18% respectively; providing approximately 14 million seats, an increase of 21% and 18% respectively compared to the flight schedule before the increase in flights and summer 2024.
Flights to/from tourist destinations (Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Quy Nhon) are operated by Vietnamese airlines for more than 20,000 flights, accounting for 30% of total flights, up to 32% and 20% respectively; providing nearly 4.1 million seats, up to 30% and 21% respectively compared to the flight schedule when there were no more flights and summer in 2024.
For the main routes (Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City), airlines are expected to operate 26,800 flights (accounting for 39%), an increase of 24% and 14% respectively; providing nearly 5.9 million seats, an increase of 22% and 14% respectively compared to the flight schedule before the increase in flights and summer 2024.
Airlines have also increased flights and the number of seats on domestic and international routes.
Vietnam Airlines will operate 33,000 domestic flights with more than 6.3 million seats. The number of domestic seats will increase by more than 28%, equivalent to nearly 1.4 million seats added compared to normal. Early morning and late evening flights continue to be deployed as part of a proactive solution to add more seats to the market this summer.
The airline will focus on deploying flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to tourist destinations attracting a large number of passengers such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Hue, Quy Nhon, Thanh Hoa.

On the international flight network, the airline will operate many new routes during the peak summer this year, including Ho Chi Minh City - Bali and Nha Trang - Busan from June 2025; Hanoi - Milan and Da Nang - Osaka all from July 2025.
Vietjet Air plans to provide more than 400,000 seats, equivalent to 1,600 flights during the peak summer season from June 1 to July 15, on routes to and from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Quang Binh, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Phu Quoc...
Meanwhile, up to now, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines have not announced about increasing flights in the summer of 2025.
Airlines recommend that passengers book and depart tickets early, especially on domestic and international routes with high demand, through official channels such as the airline's website, mobile application, ticket offices or agents. Passengers should check in online 24 hours before departure.
For passengers who do not carry checked baggage and have completed the procedures, they can go straight to the security screening area without having to go through the check-in counter, saving time and shortening the procedures at the airport.
