To date, some tourist destinations have welcomed visitors back. Specifically, Sun World Fansipan Legend reopened from September 13, with cable car operating hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Fansipan mountain train from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Muong Hoa train temporarily suspended until further notice.
Quang Ninh
Being directly affected by storm No. 3 Yagi, Quang Ninh province suffered heavy damage. Many tourist destinations are overcoming the consequences of the storm and gradually restoring operations.
The Ha Long Bay Management Board said it will start welcoming visitors from September 10 with some tours such as VHL1 (Thien Cung Cave, Dau Go Cave), VHL2 (Ti Top Island, Sung Sot Cave, Luon Cave, Trinh Nu Cave). The remaining attractions will soon overcome the consequences to welcome visitors as soon as possible.
Tuan Chau International Passenger Port and Ha Long International Passenger Port have welcomed visitors again since September 10. However, many damaged cruise ships have not been repaired or salvaged.
Sun World Ha Long Park announced that it cannot reopen to welcome guests at this time.
About 90% of the trees in the campus were knocked down, broken or uprooted. In the administrative buildings, plaster ceilings, glass, signs, etc. were also knocked down due to strong winds.
After surveying and assessing the current situation and fully fixing the problem, we will soon reopen in the safest conditions so as not to affect the visitor experience," the park representative shared.
Hai Phong
Cat Hai district is still focusing on overcoming the damage caused by natural disasters. According to Cat Hai district's report on the damage after storm No. 3, as of 12:00 on September 10, 2024, in the district, 13 people were injured; 4,717 houses were damaged; 20 schools had their roofs blown off; 8 medical facilities were damaged; 27 cultural works, 17 historical and cultural relics (communal houses, pagodas, shrines, etc.) were damaged.
However, the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry route connecting Cat Hai Island with Cat Ba Island and the Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car route have resumed operations since September 9 to serve the travel needs of residents and tourists.
In Hai Phong City, the Bao Dai villa relic was severely damaged, with many trees falling, power and water outages, and broken glass windows. It is expected that the villa will not be able to welcome guests again until September 14-15.
Hanoi
Tourist attractions and relics in Hanoi have reopened after the storm. Most of the sites were affected by fallen trees and damage to small items such as signs and posters.
The Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam has welcomed visitors since September 8, after repairing the damage. The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long and the Vietnamese Women's Museum reopened from September 9; the Hanoi Museum welcomed visitors again from September 13.
The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum has also welcomed visitors back to normal, but with some changes in some activities. Implementing the direction of the Government, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on responding to and overcoming the damage caused by storm No. 3 and floods in the mountainous and midland provinces of the North; Pursuant to Flood Warning Order No. 54/L-BCH dated September 10, 2024 of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City, the museum canceled the program "Welcoming the Autumn Moon 2024" as planned on September 15.
