Hundreds of people in traditional costumes perform a procession, recreating the old Hanoi Tet

    Hanoi - On the morning of January 19, the program "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2025" attracted hundreds of tourists to watch the opening ceremony at Kim Ngan communal house relic.

    Day la chuong trinh thuong nien, tai hien nhung net dep van hoa, nghe thuat Tet co truyen cua dan toc, tu do bao ton, phat huy nhung gia tri van hoa truyen thong. Dong thoi, thuc day phat trien du lich, quang ba hinh anh Khu Pho co Ha Noi noi rieng va Thu do Ha Noi noi chung toi dong dao nhan dan va du khach.
    The program "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2025" is organized by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter in coordination with the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club. This is an annual program, recreating the cultural and artistic beauty of the traditional Tet of the nation, thereby preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. At the same time, promoting tourism development, promoting the image of Hanoi Old Quarter in particular and Hanoi Capital in general to the public and tourists.
    Diem nhan cua chuong trinh khai mac la doan ruoc le voi quy mo khoang 400 thanh vien mac trang phuc truyen thong, di chuyen qua cac diem di tich lich su cua Ho Hoan Kiem va pho co Ha Noi.
    The highlight of the program is the "Hundred Flowers Walk" event for Tet 2025. Accordingly, the procession with a scale of about 400 members wearing traditional Vietnamese costumes, passes through historical sites of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter.

    The cheerful Nghe dance leading the procession attracted the attention of locals and tourists.

    The procession passed through the Quan Chuong Gate relic - the only intact gate of Hanoi.

    Crowds of locals and international tourists excitedly watched the procession with colorful clothes and flowers walking on the street.

    The procession also impressed with the colors of the unique traditional costumes performed by the young people of “Bach Hoa Bo Hanh”. Ms. Nguyen Do Linh Ngoc - a member of “Bach Hoa Bo Hanh”, shared: “This is the first time I have participated in the procession of the program “Tet Viet - Tet Pho”. Wearing the Nhat Binh costume from the Nguyen Dynasty, parading with everyone through the historical sites of Hanoi Old Quarter makes me feel very happy and proud”.

    The procession stopped at Kim Ngan communal house to perform the ceremony of "Cao Nieu Thanh Hoang", worship the profession's founder and reenact the ritual of raising the Tet pole.
    Truoc khi bat dau lam le dung cay neu, cau doi se duoc viet de duoc treo len. Bon chu duoc viet nam nay la: “Ky Nguyen Vuon Minh”.
    Before the pole-raising ceremony begins, parallel sentences will be written to be hung up. The four words written in Han Nom this year are “The Era of Rising” with the wish that the Vietnamese people will be full, happy, and prosperous in the new year, and that the national culture will have a transformation in the new generation.

    From January 10 to February 16, 2025, the Organizing Committee of the program "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2025" will display and introduce works of art with the theme "Spring Colors of At Ty 2025" and the collection of zodiac animals at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center (No. 2 Le Thai To). Notably, the program of organizing Chung cake wrapping at the Cultural and Art Center 22 Hang Buom (January 25).

    From January 19 to February 28, 2025, a number of other activities such as decorating and arranging traditional Tet spaces, living spaces, and celebrating Tet of an old Hanoi family; decorating traditional Tet spaces in the Northern Delta region; performing Vietnamese calligraphy... will also take place in the Hanoi Old Quarter area.
