On January 1, 2025, Hue City Department of Tourism presided over and coordinated with the Central Airport Authority at Phu Bai International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport and Vietnam Airlines Branch in Hue to organize the "Welcoming program for the first flight and tourists to Hue city in 2025".
More than 100 passengers on flight VN6317 from Hanoi to Hue landed at Phu Bai International Airport. The first group of passengers, along with the Captain and Chief Flight Attendant of the flight, were welcomed by leaders of Hue City People's Committee and the Department of Tourism, who presented them with flowers and souvenirs to celebrate the New Year.
In particular, the 4 luckiest passengers were given 4 domestic round-trip air tickets of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and souvenirs from the Hue City Department of Tourism.
Other passengers on the same flight were also given souvenirs, enjoyed a welcoming art performance and received New Year wishes from Hue City leaders and the tourism industry.
According to the leader of the Department of Tourism, this is an opening activity to respond to the Hue Festival 2025 associated with the orientation of "Four Seasons Festival", and at the same time launch a series of events and tourism activities of Hue city in 2025, welcoming Hue becoming a city directly under the Central Government and the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.
In 2024, Hue will welcome nearly 3.9 million visitors, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023; including nearly 1.45 million international visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2023, and nearly 2.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of 25% compared to 2023. The proportion of international tourists accounts for nearly 36% of the total number of tourists to Hue. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 7,900 billion, an increase of 19.6% compared to 2023.
