According to the Organizing Committee, through the series of activities, the event contributes to promoting the image, ecotourism potential and unique cultural values of U Minh Ha land; and at the same time creates a space for exchange and connection for tourism and trade development between localities.
Creating "leverage" for Ca Mau ecotourism
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Su - Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that "U Minh Forest Fragrance" is not simply a festival, but also an affirmation of the aspiration to rise up of the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
According to Mr. Su, through the event, the province wishes to introduce the unique beauty of U Minh cajeput forest, the wetland ecosystem and the Southern river culture to tourists inside and outside the province.

This is a'leverage' event, contributing to promoting the potential of eco-tourism economy, gradually transforming resource potential into economic value," Mr. Su expected.
Leaders of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee said that the locality is aiming to build a unique eco-tourism brand, imbued with cultural identity to create an impression on the Vietnam tourism map.

The province also sets a goal to develop a circular economic ecosystem associated with forests, in which natural resources are exploited sustainably, both creating livelihoods for people and preserving the ecological environment.
According to the province's orientation, in the coming time, Ca Mau will study opening more tours and routes to effectively connect national parks in the area; and at the same time link tourism between U Minh Ha and localities in the province and neighboring provinces, including An Giang.

Through practical experience activities, the province expects to raise community awareness in environmental protection, preserving the green color of the forest and building an image of friendly and hospitable Ca Mau people.
When each citizen becomes a tourism ambassador, it is also when the image of civilized and hospitable Ca Mau is spread more strongly," Mr. Le Van Su emphasized.
