Vietnamese tourists eagerly see Turkey issue electronic visas

Turkey issued electronic visas (e-visa) to Vietnamese citizens from September 1. This is good news for the travel enthusiast community and tourism businesses with tours to Turkey.

From September 1, 2025, Vietnamese citizens with a regular passport can submit an application for an electronic visa to enter Turkey through the Electronic Visa System. An electronic visa is valid for 180 days, and visitors can stay in Turkey for up to 30 days. Currently, this country issues e-visas to more than 50 countries and territories.

According to current regulations, Vietnamese visitors who have visas and entered advanced countries such as the US, Australia, European Union, UK, etc. can apply for a Turkish visa online.Otherwise, visitors need to go to the Turkish Embassy in Hanoi to submit their application directly.Previously, visas were one of the limitations for businesses developing tours to Turkey because the processing time could take up to 20-25 days, the application required relatively many types of documents, equivalent to the European visa application.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Quang - General Director of Dolphin Tour, currently, for the Ho Chi Minh City market, tourists applying for a Turkish visa must wait for businesses to collect 10-20 people to be able to invite staff from the visa receiving center from Hanoi to fly in to carry out the rolling procedures. This stage arises both in terms of visa procedures and preparation time.

A representative of another business estimated that with a large group of 50-60 people, e-visa procedures can save hundreds of millions of arising costs and shorten working time to 10 days when preparing documents.

Travel agencies assess Turkey as a new destination in recent years, attracting the attention of Vietnamese tourists.

Many young travel enthusiasts share that e-visas are the "key" to helping them get closer to a new tourist destination for Vietnamese tourists. Turkey's unique experiences captivate visitors by watching the sunrise from hot air balloons in Cappadocia, strolling through historical sites such as Aya Sofya Church, Topkapi Palace, or immersing themselves in the surreal scenery of the "cotton castle" Pamukkale.

In addition, direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Istanbul, departing at night and landing early the next morning, are also a big plus. Tourists can take advantage of their time on the plane to rest, then start their exploration journey right when they set foot in Turkey, or join a trip to Europe and Africa.
