On October 5, the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival 2025 took place with the focus being the grand festival of the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival 2025 at Can Thanh Park. This is considered a typical traditional ceremony of Can Gio fishermen, maintained continuously for more than 112 years.
Not only an occasion to show gratitude to ancestors, pray for favorable weather and peace, the festival is also considered a "Sea Tet" - the time to summarize the old fishing season and prepare for the new season.

Solemn activities are held such as visiting the Rung Sac Martyrs' Cemetery, offering incense at the Rung Sac Heroic Martyrs' Temple and the Can Gio fishermen's celebration...
At Can Thanh Park, many people and tourists participated and cheered for familiar folk games such as tug of war, cycling racing, dike swinging, etc.

According to the People's Committee of Can Gio commune, the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival is a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and also the only traditional festival of local fishermen held annually. This year's festival lasts from now until October 7 in Can Gio commune.
The festival aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the locality, contributing to building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity. In particular, focusing on preserving the typical cultural features of the people of coastal areas; strengthening propaganda and education on love for the profession, homeland, sea and sacred islands of the Fatherland.
