Hanoi City will organize fireworks displays for the 2025 New Year at 5 locations with 6 high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays on the night of December 31.
People and tourists will flock to the fireworks display locations to attend the countdown party, welcome New Year's Eve and the first moment of the new year. To avoid the situation of jostling and standing for hours on the road, move early to refer to the following locations to watch fireworks from a distance:
Battlefield No. 1 and Battlefield No. 2: Hoan Kiem District (in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Headquarters and in front of the Hanoi Post Office)
The two locations are located around Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi). Therefore, residents and tourists can stand anywhere around the lake to admire the high and low-altitude fireworks. In addition, you can stand on the sidewalks of streets near the lake such as Ba Trieu, Trang Thi, Hang Dao with a straight view of the lake, less obscured.
If you don't want to jostle with the crowd, you can come early and choose cafes and bars on the rooftop of hotels or high-rise buildings around the lake: Highland Coffee (Ham Ca Map building), HaNoiTime Coffee (Dinh Tien Hoang), Skyline (Gia Ngu), Rooftop (Pacific Place building, Ly Thuong Kiet street), The Hudson Rooms (Capella Hanoi)...
Battlefield No. 3: Nam Tu Liem District (at the F1 racetrack, Phu Do ward)
For this location, residents and visitors can stand on apartment buildings and high-rise buildings with a view of the F1 racetrack. In addition, you can sit at the cafes on high in the My Dinh stadium area or the cafe at the Water Sports Palace, opposite My Dinh stadium to admire the fireworks from afar.
Battlefield No. 4: Ha Dong District (Van Quan Lake, Van Quan Ward)
Van Quan Lake has an area of over 2,000 m2, including two small lakes connected together, providing an extremely open view. Therefore, visitors can stand at any point around the lake to watch the fireworks.
Some cafes overlooking Van Quan Lake include: Laika Ha Dong, Tropical Forest x Fordeer, Alley House, Spero Coffee, The Coffee House...
Battlefield No. 5: Son Tay Town (Son Tay Citadel) and Battlefield No. 6: Dong Anh District (Dong Anh District Sports Center)
These two sites are located in two districts in the suburbs of Hanoi with a wide view, with few high-rise buildings blocking the fireworks display. Therefore, visitors can watch the fireworks from afar right on the street or go to cafes and bars around the fireworks display area to enjoy the clear and beautiful view.
Note that beautiful fireworks viewing spots are often fully booked early. Therefore, you should arrive early in the evening to choose a suitable seat, take the initiative in transportation, and may not bring a car to avoid traffic jams, lack of parking space or difficulty in retrieving the car when leaving.
Don’t forget to bring food and drinks if you want to stay longer to participate in the countdown and fireworks. Wear enough warm clothes and thermal clothing to ensure your health in the cold weather in Hanoi.
Please clean up your fireworks viewing area to maintain public hygiene.
