Muong Phang people are excited

The preparation for groundbreaking of a large-scale project has brought joy and many expectations to local people.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Luong Van Thoa (resident of Muong Phang commune) - said that the cable car project will be a big "push" for Muong Phang tourism to break through.

When there is a cable car combined with a cultural and ecological tourist area, tourists will have new experiences, stay longer, and spend more. This helps people and homestays develop more, sell specialties, open eateries, transportation services, and tour guides..." - Mr. Thoa said.

Ms. Ca Thi Phuong, owner of Phuong Duc homestay in Muong Phang commune - expressed: "Having a cable car complex in Muong Phang commune, I am very happy and excited. Because when the cable car goes into operation, the number of visitors will increase a lot and people will also change and develop very strongly in tourism".

With the consensus from the government and the aspirations of the people, the Dien Bien Phu cable car complex is expected to contribute to realizing the goal of building Dien Bien into a typical cultural and historical tourist destination of the Northern mountainous region.

According to the reporter's investigation, the cable car line will connect from the historical relic of General Vo Nguyen Giap's bunker to the relic area of Pu To Co Mountain Observatory.

Pu To Co peak is 1,700m above sea level. From this location, the entire center of Dien Bien Phu stronghold Group can be clearly observed, including the airport, strongholds and the entire basin.

From this "divine eye", General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Campaign Command regularly came to grasp the developments of the war. From there, they made accurate and effective decisions and orders, contributing to the Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the earth" in 1954.
