Lam Dong has diverse natural conditions, a mild climate, suitable for developing many typical agricultural types such as coffee, tea, Da Lat vegetables and flowers, artichokes, macadamia, dragon fruit, and processed products from traditional agricultural products and handicrafts.
This is the foundation for the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program to develop in the direction of improving added value and economic efficiency.
In recent years, the province has issued and synchronously implemented plans to implement the OCOP Program, associated with restructuring the agricultural sector, innovating production organization and developing rural tourism services.
Thereby, contributing to creating jobs, increasing income for people and promoting rural economic development in a sustainable direction.

To date, Lam Dong province has 926 OCOP products, of which 75 products achieved 4 stars, and 844 products achieved 3 stars.
The province is completing dossiers for 7 products to submit for evaluation and ranking at the national level (5 stars), with 529 participants, mainly belonging to the group of food, agricultural products, beverages, herbs and rural tourism services.
Many OCOP products of Lam Dong have been put into supermarket systems, specialty stores, and participated in fairs inside and outside the province. Some products are gradually approaching export markets.
OCOP subjects have paid more attention to product quality, designs, packaging, applying traceability and production standards, thereby improving competitiveness in the market.
According to Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang - Deputy Director in charge of the Lam Dong Provincial Investment and Trade Promotion Center, trade promotion activities in the past time focused on connecting production with consumption, supporting OCOP entities to access the distribution system and stable consumption partners.
Through events and fairs, businesses and cooperatives have conditions to introduce products, sign contracts and expand markets. In addition to trade promotion, Lam Dong province identifies linking OCOP products with tourism as a key direction.
Featured products are introduced into tourist areas, attractions, display, introduction and product sales spaces, contributing to diversifying experiences for tourists, while creating stable outlets for local products.

According to Standing Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen, the province has identified 7 groups of key tasks and solutions to implement the OCOP Program in the coming time. In which, brand building and market development are considered key tasks.
The province will continue to promote trade promotion, develop distribution systems, OCOP points of sale associated with tourism, and improve product quality right from the evaluation and ranking stages.
The province focuses on supporting subjects to apply quality standards, advanced production processes, develop products according to the value chain and advantages of each locality. At the same time, mobilize social resources, encourage businesses and cooperatives to invest in technological innovation and improve product quality," Mr. Yen emphasized.
Over the past time, the OCOP Program has contributed to improving income for stakeholders, with an average increase of 15-20% per year, while creating more jobs for rural workers.
Promoting trade promotion and linking OCOP with tourism is opening up a more substantive development direction, helping local products access a wider market and develop stably in the coming time.
