The number of passengers on the Ha Long Bay 7 route is too low

Quang Ninh - In the first 8 months of 2026, only 33 visitors visited Ha Long Bay on the Ha Long Bay 7 - 1 itinerary out of 3 routes opened from May 2025.

From May 1, 2025, there will be 3 new sightseeing routes on Ha Long Bay, including: Ha Long Bay 6 Route, Ha Long Bay 7 Route and Ha Long Bay 8 Route, to diversify the experiences for tourists.

In which, Ha Long Bay Journey 7 (VHL7) is built with a wide sightseeing scope, connecting the destinations of 4 journeys, including: VHL1, VHL2, VHL3 and VHL4.

VHL7 is only applicable to explorer yachts.

According to the design, this is a journey with a very wide range of experiences, taking visitors to many unique attractions on the bay.

With VHL1, visitors explore Thien Cung cave, Dau Go cave, Ba Hang cave and the rocky island complex, and admire Dinh Huong, Cho Da and Trong Mai islands.

VHL2 Journey takes visitors to a series of famous attractions such as Soi Sim Island, Ti Top Island, Sung Sot Cave, Bo Nau Cave, Luon Cave, Dong Tien Lake Cave, Trong Cave, Trinh Nu Cave and Me Cung Cave.

VHL3 focuses on destinations rich in cultural, ecological and spiritual values such as Cua Van Floating Cultural Center, Truc Forest area, Tien Ong cave, Ang Du, Ba Ham Lake and Ba Men Temple.

Meanwhile, VHL4 takes tourists to explore Co cave, Thay cave, Cong Do island area, Cap La cave, Cong Do pine - field eco-tourism area, Hon Xep park and Vung Vieng area.

However, despite having a wide range and experience content, VHL7 is having the lowest number of visitors in the 3 new journeys.

According to data from the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, in 2025, VHL7 only welcomed 7 visitors, all of whom were foreign tourists.

From January 1 to the end of September 6, 2026, VHL7 will only receive 33 guests, including 32 foreign guests and 1 Vietnamese guest.

While the VHL8 journey - a journey running along the coast of Ha Long Bay, mainly serving tourists experiencing the landscape of Ha Long Bay at night - welcomed 240,591 visitors. Among these, there were 213,966 Vietnamese tourists and 26,625 foreign tourists.

The VHL6 journey - Ha Long Bay - Lan Ha Bay (Hai Phong) inter- bay route - also recorded growth in the number of visitors. In 2025, VHL6 welcomed 197 visitors, including 76 foreign visitors and 121 Vietnamese visitors. From the beginning of the year to the end of September 6, 2026, this journey welcomed 7,401 visitors, of which foreign visitors accounted for the majority with 5,922 visitors.

The difference in the number of visitors between routes shows that the level of choice of tourists for VHL7 is still very limited. Notably, this is a route with a scope connecting many tourist routes, but the number of visitors is only a few dozen in more than 8 months.

According to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, the number of visitors choosing VHL7 is still very low, not commensurate with the scope and content of the journey. The Board continues to monitor and evaluate to have a basis for proposing appropriate solutions.
