Jo Kibble, 40, traveled from London (UK) to Eijsden (in the far south of the Netherlands) to start the challenge of traveling to as many countries as possible within 1 day. To do this, he chose to travel mainly by public transport such as buses, trains, electric cars, passenger cars and bicycles for rent.
Jo Kibble's journey began at 11:58 p.m. on November 14. He traveled from a small Dutch village to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and Slovakia, ending his challenge in Breclav, Czech Republic, at 11:25 p.m. on November 15.
Jo is currently living in Charlton, southeast London and is the head of the Ealing Council cabinet office. He shared about the trip: "It was a great experience. I had hoped to be in 11 countries, but a ship broke down in Alsace, France, giving me no time to go to Hungary.
Throughout the journey, I have traveled on eight trains, five buses, one passenger bus, one electric vehicle and one rented bicycle."
He added that according to his rule, to mark a country, Jo cannot just sit on a train passing through that country. He had to change at least one means of transport in each country he passed through.
"It's great to go from a very crowded, crowded bus trip from Liege to Luxembourg at 1am, or a first-class train through the incredible scenery of the Austrian Alps" - Jo exclaimed.
At 11:58 p.m. on November 14, Jo began his adventure from the small village of Eijsden in the south of the Netherlands - taking the last train of the day to Belgium.
arrived in Liege, Belgium, less than an hour later, he took a Flixbus at 1 am to Luxembourg. He then rented a bicycle to get to the main bus station in Luxembourg.
He took a 4-am bus to Saarbrücken, Germany, before switching to an electric bus at 5:40am to Sarreguemines, France.
After that, Jo boarded the train at 6:13 to Strasbourg. Next up is the train at 7:51 to Basel, Switzerland. However, the train was stopped at the border due to a technical problem.
He had to catch the next train to Basel but missed the planned next trip to Hungary. Therefore, he could not go to the 11 countries as planned.
However, Jo continued his journey and took a train from Basel to Zürich at 10:06 a.m. Next is the train to Sargans at 11:38, followed by the bus to Vaduz, Liechtenstein, at 12:33.
He took the bus to Schaan at 1:48 p.m., continued the bus at 11:28 p.m. to Feldkirch, Austria, then boarded the train to Bratislava-Petrzalka, Slovakia, at 2:50 p.m.
Jo took the bus to Bratislava-Hlavna at 21,08 and finally took the train at 22:06 to reach his final destination. After 11:27 p.m., Jo arrived at Breclav in the southeastern Czech Republic at 11:25 p.m., passing through a total of 10 countries.
He shared: "I am very happy to have taken this challenge. Its great to see things you spend a lot of time writing on paper come true.
Luckily, the last train had a sleeper car to Praha, so after getting off in Breclav in the cold at 11:25, I just needed to jump onto the train, climb straight to bed and wake up in the Czech capital the next morning."
After the trip, he said he would stay in the Czech Republic for a few days before wandering around both traveling and returning home.
