An old, shabby house in Bangkok, Thailand has suddenly become popular with foreign tourists who want to experience traditional culture.

Despite its shabby appearance and limited interior, an old house in Bangkok, Thailand has become popular with tourists visiting the city.

The house is located in the heart of Bangkok, with rental prices ranging from just 19 baht to 360 baht per night (VND 15,000 to VND 270,000) through the online booking platform. The room, called "Boss Room 3", is even fully booked until February 2026 on the online booking platform Airbnb.

The house has 7 rooms for rent, providing only private rooms, basic amenities, Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms. But guests have to flush the toilet with a bucket of water.

Most rooms have fans and mosquito nets, mattresses are placed directly on the floor, only 1 room has air conditioning. Some rooms have to be reached by wooden ladders. Guests often communicate easily across rooms due to poor soundproofing.

The owner of the house, Mr. Supoj, said he had spent too much money renovating the house so he rented it out to make more money. Speaking to Vision Thai media, Mr. Supoj rented out the empty rooms at a cheap price because he wanted someone to keep him company.

Supoj is transparent and upfront about the housing situation, even calling it “ghetto-style housing” in the introduction.

"The house is not very beautiful but the price is cheap, as in the picture. I have written all the problems. You can read everything and see all the pictures," the owner wrote.

Mr. Supoj loves every guest who visits him, and always encourages them to feel free to contact him at any time if they need any help. Perhaps that is why most of the guests who stay at his house leave 5-star reviews. All of the rooms for rent at Mr. Supoj's house have an overall rating of 4.9 stars or more.

Currently, there are about 8 to 10 long-term tenants at Mr. Supoj's house, some staying for up to a year.
