According to the Organizing Committee, in the context of Hue City developing according to the orientation of a heritage city directly under the Central Government, fully recognizing the cultural, historical, landscape and human values of Hue is of great significance. This is considered a scientific basis for preserving and promoting heritage values associated with sustainable development.

The conference received 45 papers from scientists and experts in many fields. After a review process, the Organizing Committee selected 32 papers to be included in the yearbook and presented at the conference.

The presentations focused on four groups of contents including: identification of space, history and identity of Hue cultural heritage; tangible cultural heritage and cultural institutions; intangible cultural heritage, spiritual life; and solutions to preserve and promote the value of Hue cultural heritage in the new development context.

As Dr. Le Anh Tuan (Central Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism) has presented, participating in UNESCO's network of creative cities is one of the approaches to solving the problem between heritage preservation and urban development, to turn culinary heritage from a source of pride into an endogenous driving force.

According to him, the model of a culinary creative city is a method to realize the strategy of making Hue a cultural and tourism center of the region and continent. The model not only brings a new approach to preserving and exploiting heritage into resources but also helps to ensure that Hue's culinary heritage does not "distort" its core values when it becomes an "industry".

Many opinions at the conference expected that the research results would contribute to supplementing the theoretical and practical basis for policy planning, conservation and effective exploitation of heritage resources, thereby further affirming Hue's position as a unique cultural center of Vietnam.
