On January 29 and 30 (the first and second days of the Lunar New Year), at spiritual places such as Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery, Ong Pagoda..., crowds of people came to visit, pray for love, and hope for a smooth year of work and study.
Many people believe that this is not only a long-standing traditional cultural beauty, but also an opportunity to look towards noble spiritual values, nurturing goodness and optimism for the journey ahead.
Despite being busy entertaining guests during the first days of the new year, Ms. Nguyen Truc Phuong (Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City) still took some time to go to Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery (Phong Dien District) to burn incense and pray for wealth, luck, and peace. Ms. Phuong shared that in 2024, her work encountered many difficulties, but she accepted and overcame them.
"Every year, on the first and second days of Tet, I go to pagodas to visit Buddha and pray for happiness in my family. I know it will be crowded and hard to jostle, but I feel happy because everyone is excited to welcome the new year," said Ms. Phuong.
Ms. Phuong added that this year when going to the temple, her family also asked for the calligraphy word "peace" to hang in the house. This is like a reminder of a favorable start for 2025.
Going on a spring outing in the Ben Ninh Kieu area, Mr. Nguyen Phong and his family also went to Ong Pagoda (Ninh Kieu district) to burn incense.
"In addition to working hard and being kind to everyone, I always believe that good things will be rewarded, and going to the temple is also a way for me to look back at myself and recharge my energy for the new year," Phong said with a smile.
