On February 28, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province said that it has developed a plan to maintain stable passenger flow during the temporary closure of Lien Khuong International Airport.

According to statistics, Lien Khuong airport serves 34-36 flights per day, with more than 5,200 passengers going in and out.
In nearly 6 months of suspension, it is expected that about 960,000 passengers coming and going from Lam Dong will be interrupted.
This may lead to a sharp decline in the group of passengers coming by air such as mid- and high-end passengers, international passengers, MICE passengers and passengers from distant provinces.
To maintain stable growth for the tourism industry, Lam Dong province is oriented to strongly shift to exploiting the market of passengers traveling by road and the intra-regional market.

The local tourism industry is coordinating with high-quality passenger transport businesses to form fixed tourist bus routes and specialized contract bus routes.
At the same time, promote transit services from major cities to the center of Lam Dong (Da Lat area) during the time the airport is temporarily closed; guide and arrange convenient and safe pick-up and drop-off points during peak periods.
Lam Dong province focuses on exploiting key markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Southeast provinces, South Central Coast and the Central Highlands region.
In the near future, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province will work with travel businesses to launch a tourism stimulus program, adjust tours to suit road travel conditions; build package tours, inter-regional tours through nearby airports combined with road transit.
For accommodation establishments, tourist areas, and attractions, localities encourage proactively building service packages, preferential comboes, and discounts suitable for passengers traveling by road, and encourage long-term stays.
