Normally, international tourists often come to Ha Long from October, because the international tourist season starts from October every year and lasts until about March and April of the following year.

During the recent super typhoon, Quang Ninh's tourism infrastructure and services were severely damaged. Many famous tourist attractions in Ha Long are still temporarily closed, including Quang Ninh Museum and Sun World Ha Long Amusement Park.

However, up to this point, some facilities have been repaired, while others are still safe after the storm and are ready to welcome guests back.

Currently, Ha Long City has 39 4-5 star hotels, with 8,572 rooms, of which 5,196 rooms are ready to welcome guests (accounting for 60% of the total number of rooms). The tourist accommodation facilities from 1-3 stars and meeting standards are still ready to welcome guests: about 580 hotels with 8,540 rooms.

In the recent storm No. 3, 27 tourist boats sank. Currently, the total number of boats ready for operation is 315 (88%). Of which, at Ha Long International Passenger Port, there are 119 sightseeing and restaurant boats, 36 accommodation boats; at Tuan Chau Port, there are 110 sightseeing and restaurant boats, 50 accommodation boats.

Recovery work after the storm is still ongoing. Quang Ninh continues to maintain the campaign to clean up Ha Long Bay, because the amount of floating trash is still very large.
