Soc Trang earns nearly 1,323 billion VND from tourism

Soc Trang - In the first 9 months of 2024, Soc Trang province had total tourism revenue of nearly 1,323 billion VND.

From the beginning of 2024 to now, the total number of tourists to Soc Trang has reached about 2.4 million, an increase of 13% over the same period. Total revenue from tourism has reached nearly 1,323 billion VND, an increase of 20% over the same period.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province, with its available potential and advantages, Soc Trang has been developing spiritual tourism, festival culture, river and garden ecology and sea tourism.

In the province, there are currently 93 Khmer pagodas with unique architecture and distinct characteristics, which are attractive destinations for tourists when coming to Soc Trang.

The Ooc Om Boc - Ngo Boat Race festival alone annually welcomes about 100,000 visitors watching live, over 400,000 visitors via social networks, of which over 20,000 are visitors from outside the province and internationally.

The People's Council of Soc Trang province has also issued Resolution 05 on tourism development support policies for businesses and partners. The province strives to make tourism an important economic sector by 2025 and a spearhead economic sector by 2030 according to the overall tourism development plan.
