Dai Lam Village Festival is one of the longest traditional festivals, taking place on the three days of January 24-26 (lunar calendar) every year. This is not only an occasion for the villagers to gather and have fun after hard working days, but also a time to honor the cultural and historical values of their homeland.
Originating from the heroic resistance war against the Tong army in 1077, sailing has become a symbol of the resilience and solidarity of the people of Dai Lam. Each boat participating in the competition is not simply a means of competition, but also a vivid testament to the heroic history and pride of many generations of children and grandchildren.
This sport not only trains physical strength but also promotes coordination, team spirit and community awareness. Therefore, the people here always have a saying: "Dai Lam village association is not as fun as swimming in a handful, and if there is no handful, it will no longer be Dai Lam village association".
Mr. Dang Van Hung, a resident of Dai Lam, shared: Swedming is not only a competition but also the pride of the people here. When each roof of the steering wheel is in harmony, we not only compete but also recreate the spirit of solidarity of our ancestors from thousands of generations ago.
From the first days of the year, people have been busy preparing, from building new boats, organizing exercises to mobilizing the cooperation of the whole community. The swimming teams, with the participation of both young people and experienced rowers, are ready to compete on the Cau River.
The resounding cheering, the sound of the water-chopping roof and the vibrant cheers of the audience create a brilliant and vibrant village festival picture. Chau Thai is not only a competitive race but also a symbol of solidarity and unity - the value that has helped many generations of Dai Lam people overcome difficulties and build their homeland to develop more and more.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, a member of the swimming team, excitedly shared: The feeling of holding a paddle roof, immersing yourself in the water and trying my best with my teammates to reach the finish line is really hard to describe. For us, winning is not only the first prize but also a bond and pride in contributing to preserving the tradition of our homeland.
In addition to badminton, Dai Lam village festival also organizes many traditional cultural activities such as marches, offerings, fighting, chess competitions, badminton, etc. These activities are not only entertaining but also help the younger generation understand more about the origin, preserve and promote the cultural beauty of the homeland.
