Mau Son peak (Lang Son) in the early days of the year becomes more bustling than usual when streams of tourists flock to hunt for clouds and enjoy the rare winter atmosphere of the northern mountains.
Dense fog covers the mountain slopes, sometimes dissipating, sometimes accumulating, creating a faint, magical scene, making many people compare Mau Son to "miniature Europe".
From early morning on the weekend, the road leading to the mountain peak area has been bustling with vehicles. Many families and groups of young people choose to move from the night before to catch the sunrise in the clouds. Low temperatures and strong cold winds do not reduce the excitement of tourists. The roadside drink stalls are always crowded with customers stopping to warm themselves by the warm charcoal stoves.

Not only attractive because of the cold weather and fog, Mau Son also attracts tourists thanks to its peaceful space, separate from the rhythm of urban life. In the midst of 11 degrees Celsius cold, the feeling of breathing fresh air into your chest, listening to the roar of the wind through the forest brings a peace that is hard to find.
Many tourists said that they chose Mau Son not to go quickly, take quick photos, but to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Tourist service establishments on the mountain peak are also crowded. According to restaurant owners, typical highland dishes such as hill chicken, sturgeon, forest vegetables, and leaves wine are chosen by many tourists to warm their bodies. Prices are generally stable, and service work is strengthened due to the large number of visitors.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (a tourist from Hanoi) shared when standing on the mist-stained top of Mau Son: "I have seen many pictures of Mau Son, but when I got to the place, I clearly felt the cold and special atmosphere here. It feels like I am in a European mountainous region. My family travels slowly, both admiring the scenery and taking pictures, although it's cold, everyone finds it worth coming here.

According to Ms. Lan, what makes the trip memorable is not only the scenery but also the different experience compared to ordinary tourism: "The quiet space, fresh air, hot food and the feeling of gathering in the cold weather make the trip very complete. If I had the opportunity, I would still want to return to Mau Son on deeper cold days to clearly feel the winter in the highlands.
In the characteristic cold of the mountainous region, Mau Son enters a beautiful season when fog, mountain clouds and people create a picture that is both bustling and poetic, leaving an unforgettable impression on anyone who sets foot there.
