Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the development of green tourism products, diversifying experiences for tourists and aiming for sustainable tourism development.

Monkey Island is one of the stops when coming to Can Gio, attracting a large number of tourists thanks to its characteristic mangrove ecosystem. Located in the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO, this place is currently the habitat of more than 2,000 monkeys.

Visiting Monkey Island, Ms. Linh Lan (a tourist from Quang Binh) said she was impressed with the fresh natural space and unique ecosystem of Can Gio. According to Ms. Lan, besides sightseeing, close experiences with nature make the trip more meaningful, and at the same time bring a clearer perspective on environmental conservation work.

Grasping the trend of tourism associated with experience and environmental protection, many travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are investing in developing green tourism products, especially in Can Gio.

Mr. Pham Anh Vu - Deputy General Director of Viet Tourism Company said that in addition to sea experiences, tourists are increasingly interested in activities associated with nature and local culture.

Programs such as garbage collection, learning about mangrove ecosystems or exploring community life not only bring new experiences but also help tourists better understand the value of Can Gio Biosphere Reserve - the "green lung" of Ho Chi Minh City. This is also a direction contributing to the development of green tourism, raising awareness about nature conservation and sustainable development.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Can Gio is a strategic link in the city's new development space, and also plays an important role in orienting the expansion of growth potential in a green and sustainable direction. With the marine ecosystem, mangrove forests and unique cultural values of the Southern coastal region, this area has great potential for developing ecotourism products, experiences and environmental education.

Not only in Can Gio, the trend of green tourism is also being invested and developed with experiential products in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, especially waterway tourism on the Saigon River.

Recorded in the city center area, many tourists choose to experience river buses or sunset viewing tours on the Saigon River to explore the city from a different perspective. Waterway journeys not only bring relaxation space but also help connect tourists with the riverside rhythm of life and typical destinations of Ho Chi Minh City.

For waterway tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism identifies development in a green and sustainable direction as one of the focuses. The city encourages businesses to apply emission reduction solutions, use clean energy, and improve environmental standards in transportation, accommodation and service provision activities. At the same time, develop products associated with natural resource conservation, environmental protection and promoting local cultural values.

Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry continues to develop community tourism and ecotourism products to diversify experiences, improve the quality of destinations, and create motivation for the sustainable development of the tourism industry in the coming time.
