Ho Chi Minh City earns over 2,900 billion VND from tourism during September 2 holiday

Tourism revenue on the occasion of National Day, September 2 in Ho Chi Minh City is estimated at VND 2,940 billion, an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2023.

On September 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that on the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, visitors to tourist and entertainment areas are estimated at about 980,000, an increase of 2% over the same period in 2023.

Domestic tourists to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 425,000, up 1.2% over the same period in 2023.

International visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 38,800, up 3.2% over the same period in 2023.

The number of guests staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at 214,630, an increase of 32.5% over the same period in 2023. Room occupancy is estimated at 85%, an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2023.

Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 2,940 billion, up 1.7% over the same period in 2023 (VND 2,890 billion).

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the long holiday is the basis for the strong increase in tourists on September 2. The main tourist groups during this holiday are mostly families, groups of young or middle-aged people who have not arranged time for summer travel, most of them travel domestically.

According to information from travel agencies, the holiday lasts 4 days so tourists tend to travel for 3-5 days. Domestic destinations that tourists prioritize during this year's holiday are Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Nang, the North and Central Highlands... Destinations near Vietnam such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China are also of interest to many tourists due to cheaper airfares.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the tourism product program to visit the national architectural and artistic relic of the Headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City had 1,848 domestic and international visitors.

Activities at tourist attractions and sightseeing spots in the city are quite vibrant with ticket discount programs. Dining establishments also have many attractive promotions.
