Quang Ninh - Cao Xiem mountain climbing experience activities (Luc Hon commune) are gradually forming tourism products associated with community livelihood development.

The program to conquer Cao Xiem peak (1,429m high) is designed by Luc Hon Commune People's Committee according to a 2-day 1-night tour model, combining forest walking, mountain climbing, camping and exploring indigenous culture.

Each delegation has a maximum of 35 people, departing 10 minutes apart to ensure safety.

The trekking route is about 4km/trip, travel time from 3–4 hours, average slope 12–18%.

The journey takes visitors through anise forests, Sua forests, scenic spots, paragliding landing pads, terraced fields, lonely trees, natural stone benches...

Tourists stay overnight at the Cao Ly campsite, experience the mossy forest, and learn about local medicinal plants.

Throughout the journey, visitors can "hunt clouds", watch the sunrise, enjoy local cuisine, listen to Then singing, Soong Co singing, Pa Dung singing; learn about the brocade embroidery and weaving craft of local people.

Mr. Phùn Văn Pẩu (born 1996, Ngàn Mèo Trên village, Lục Hồn commune), local guide, said: The time to climb from the foot of the mountain to the top is about more than 2 hours; if stopping to rest and sightsee, it can be extended by another 1-2 hours. To ensure safety, in addition to local guides, the locality arranges security, medical, and rescue forces at checkpoints along the route; the commune also develops plans to respond to bad weather, lost groups or forest fires.

Currently, Luc Hon Commune People's Committee is organizing survey teams (famtrips) with the participation of travel businesses to complete the product "Conquering Cao Xiem peak 1,429m", towards professional and sustainable exploitation.

The locality also promotes communication, builds images, videos, and promotional articles; coordinates with businesses to bring products to digital platforms, gradually forming the "Caosiem - Luc Hon" tourism brand.

It is expected that 10-15 local workers will be trained in guiding skills, serving tourists, first aid, and environmental protection; towards establishing a guiding team to support tourism, operating in a professional direction, clearly assigning tasks, meeting large-scale tour organization.

With advantages in nature and culture, the Cao Xiem - Luc Hon tourist route is expected to become a new product of Quang Ninh, contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods for people in the highlands.
