The People's Committee of Vinh Long province has just issued a plan to organize the first Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province in 2024. The event is expected to take place from November 10 to 16, 2024 (7 days), on Vo Van Kiet Street, Ward 9, Vinh Long City; Brick and ceramic production village at Thay Cai canal, Mang Thit district.
The event is on a regional scale in the Mekong Delta, expanding to invite Ho Chi Minh City, some provinces and cities in the Central and Northern regions to participate. The exhibition area has 700 - 800 booths (area: 3mx3m).
The event aims to celebrate the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Agriculture and Rural Development Sector (November 14); the anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23); the 84th anniversary of the Southern Uprising Day (November 23, 1940 - November 23, 2024); the 102nd anniversary of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet's birthday (November 23, 1922 - November 23, 2024).
In addition, focus on promoting and publicizing the tourism potential and advantages of Mang Thit brick and pottery village - a famous and unique craft village in the region. Promote tourism development, regional connectivity, and seek opportunities to spread to domestic and foreign markets.
In addition, implementing the National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021 - 2030, vision 2050. Specifically, the goal is "Green growth contributes to promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation to achieve economic prosperity, environmental sustainability and social equity; towards a green, carbon-neutral economy and contributing to the goal of limiting global temperature rise".
The event is also an opportunity for Vinh Long province, provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and some provinces and cities nationwide to participate in the exhibition, introduce and promote achievements, potentials and strengths in various fields, thereby contributing to attracting investment and strengthening links for local socio-economic development.
