Originally colleagues at a garment factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. M and Mr. V developed feelings for each other. After a year of getting to know each other, the two officially “came home together”.
Not long after that, because the COVID-19 epidemic situation was tense, Ms. M and her husband "packed up" and returned to Mr. V's hometown in Ca Mau.
Since moving back to her husband's hometown, Ms. M has been lonely because her mother-in-law has a sarcastic attitude, and her husband is cold, always hanging out with friends drinking and singing. Not stopping there, during her pregnancy, Ms. M also discovered that her husband was having an affair. According to Ms. M, the lover was Mr. V's ex-lover, who lived about 7 houses away from her husband's house.
She thought she would receive words of apology from Mr. V, but after the confrontation, Ms. M was surprised when Mr. V loudly cursed and hit her back.
Some time later, she went to a drinking party of her husband with his lover by his side. Ms. M could not control her anger when Mr. V kept blaming her and defending his lover.
As soon as Mr. V finished speaking, Ms. M grabbed the glass and threw it at the "mistress", then Mr. V approached and kicked Ms. M. After a while of fighting, Mr. V's lover pushed Ms. M into the hot pot and was severely burned. Ms. M was taken to the infirmary by her neighbors and was in a state of miscarriage.
When the social distancing period ended, Ms. M returned to Ho Chi Minh City and suddenly received the bad news that her biological mother had passed away. It wasn't until her first child was 3 months old that Ms. M started working.
Up to now, Ms. M has not kept in contact with her ex-husband and has never let Mr. V see his child again.
Regarding Ms. M's story, director Le Hoang commented: "The first mistake is that you think too simply when you don't register your marriage. Don't use poverty as an excuse, because a marriage certificate does not affect the issue of wealth or poverty."
However, after listening to Ms. M "alone" raising her daughter, having no family to rely on, having to stay at a friend's house but having a positive perspective, director Le Hoang expressed his admiration.
With the answer that she does not intend to remarry because Ms. M is haunted by the wounds caused by her ex-husband, director Le Hoang advised: "Don't let your life end here. There are many good men out there and don't think you will live forever with your daughter."
